We're back!
September 1, 2009I’m happy to be home; so I can go back to my lazy life without having to walk eight hours a day. Don’t get me wrong; I loved this trip to New York, a lot! I just had forgotten how lay back the So. Cal. life style was until I visited this busy city.
During my five-day stay there, it was proving to be the city with the worst traffic in the world. We got stuck in traffic every time we rode in a car. Every. Single. Time. And by “getting stuck”, I meant GETTING STUCK. No way out, not moving, for as long as it takes me to finish reading the Book of Isaiah. Time of the day didn’t matter. Whether it is 10 am or 12 am, you can still be in a bottleneck. We did learn to take the train and subway to get around town.
We were in non-moving traffic right after we left the airport on our way back to the hotel. It was after mid-night.
Our train ride from Connecticut to New York.
This is my favorite scene in Manhattan: troops of cabs marching on the street.
We did not have to fight for the camera this time, because we brought two!

This is why I loved New York so much. Even a random shot on the street looks so cool. I took this photo without looking
through the viewfinder, and it turns out to be one of my favorite.
The fireman was posing for me when I pointed my camera at him. He even invited me to get up to the seat. I felt like a little kid.
Time square at night is magnificent. Since I came from Hong Kong, New York is a place that makes me feel like home.
I have to be honest and say that, the NY Time Square is more beautiful than the Hong Kong Time Square.
To be continued…
